Georgian Farm House

The owners of  this Georgian farmhouse in a rural hamlet near Alton have asked for a complete redesign of the existing garden to coincide with a renovation project on the house led by architects Ian Adam-Smith.

The garden had been planted in the early 1990's but not looked after, as a result the entire garden is overgrown and unloved.  My clients have asked for the setting of this house to be enhanced with a scheme of formal evergreen planting, underplanted with bulbs and new mature evergreen trees to help screen the neighbours views over the property. The brief is to reconnect the house with its land with a working kitchen garden and new glasshouse, a newly planted orchard, and a rose garden visible from the main reception rooms. Parking at the front of the house is to be moved out of view so that windows look out over greenery instead of metal. A large new dining terrace is to be created on the south side of the house after building works have finished.
